New Year's Intentions?

For some, the new year is a time where many decide to set up a resolution or two-although you can do it any time of the year. Another term for a resolution is a goal. Yet goals do have a major flaw attached to them.

For starters, goals are always out in some future time and place, yet the only true reality we have is here and now. And it has been said that the subconscious mind, which controls our habit patterns, lives in an eternal present. What might be a better alternative? Setting an intention.

For example, you may be overweight and realistically it may take some time to reach your goal of being thinner and healthier. But you can set an intention to do your best today when it comes to eating, exercise, and managing your stress. Repeat that daily and eventually you will get where you want to be.

It’s really not so much a matter of abandoning goals and resolutions as they do have their place. But it is more important to set an strong intention and commitment to do your best in the present moment. Feel free to connect if you could use some help honoring your resolutions, goals, and intentions.
