A new brain imaging study at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston has shown that consuming walnuts acts upon a brain center that regulates hunger and cravings, the findings were published online in the journal Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism.
Volunteers consumed about a half cup of walnuts mixed into a smoothie for 5 consecutive days.
Patients receiving the walnut smoothie reported significantly decreased feelings of hunger during the week they consumed when compared to a placebo group whose drink was similarly flavored but didn't contain actual walnuts.
Participants were then placed in a fMRI machine and shown images of fattening foods and showed increased activity in an area of the brain associated with self-control and feelings of fullness.
This might be something to consider trying if walnuts agree with you. Also, if you would like info on health coaching, please visit https://www.njhypno.com/health-coaching
